With the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading across the country, we want to remind our patients of the health and safety measures we conduct at our practice. We are proud to report that our practice adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control. Protective gear, hospital-grade disinfectants, proper sterilization protocols, and single-use disposable materials are all part of our daily efforts to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff. As healthcare professionals, superior patient care is always a top priority.
We have also implemented these additional protocols:
- We thoroughly disinfect frequently touched surfaces throughout the day, such as waiting areas, the reception desk, and door handles.
- We have removed toys, magazines, and other items from our waiting rooms.
- We have introduced social distancing in waiting and reception areas. Hand sanitiser is available to all patients upon arrival.
The coronavirus is a virus that presents with cold or flu-like symptoms. Those infected with the virus may have varying degrees of severity; the elderly and the immunocompromised appear to be the most at-risk for a severe infection. Out of an abundance of caution, and for the health and safety of persons being cared for or working at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or if any household members have any of the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
Additionally, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if you have traveled outside Australia with known coronavirus or have been in contact with someone who has travelled or contracted the virus.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time. Together, we can help keep everyone as safe and as healthy as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office, and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.
